Estate Planning
Estate Planning
Our goal is to help our clients achieve individual, retirement planning, and charitable giving so they may preserve and distribute their assets to their family members and intended beneficiaries in the most tax/cost-effective manner possible.
We provide a full array of personal planning services for individuals and families. We implement a thorough, personalized approach to assist clients with all of their family planning needs, including tax and estate planning, probate and trust administration. We specialize in wealth preservation and transference to protect families by analyzing the needs and goals of our clients and implementing a plan to meet those objectives. We emphasize, above all else, educating our clients on the hows and whys of estate planning so they can make informed decisions regarding not only their futures, but the futures of their families and succeeding generations.
Understanding Estate Planning
We draft wills, trust agreements, durable powers of attorney for financial matters and healthcare, and other estate planning documents on behalf of our clients. We ensure all of our estate planning documents are prepared and thoroughly explained to our clients so they can be readily understood and are effective in implementing the tax and personal planning strategies which have been formulated. Our firm stresses, above all else, educating the client on their estate planning issues so they can have peace of mind and security that their legacies will be transferred to succeeding generations and intended beneficiaries according to their wishes, and not the desire of others.
The Estate Planning Process
Estate planning commences with an initial discussion of the client’s estate planning objectives and an analysis of present and future assets, liabilities, income and expenses. If the client elects to retain the firm to provide estate planning, then detailed consideration is given to tax and probate ramifications as well as guardianship choices and planning for incapacity or disability. Thereafter, the estate planning documents are prepared and presented to the clients in an individual meeting so the clients are completely educated on the operation of their estate plan.
Special Needs Planning
Estate planning for a loved one with a disability requires a specialized approach to ensure that there are assets to care for them after you pass away. Additionally, these assets should be managed in a manner that will not cause your loved one to become ineligible for government benefits to which they may be entitled. The firm provides a full array of services which include special needs trusts and establishing guardianships for individuals with developmental disabilities.
